Laminate Wood Flooring
Often when you have a water damage in your home your flooring is one of the first things to be affected. While carpet and tile flooring can usually be saved, when laminate wood flooring is affected by water regardless of the water category the laminate is not salvageable. Due to the laminate wood flooring being highly porous it absorbs the water easily. There is also a plastic moisture barrier under laminate wood flooring That will keep the moisture under the floor even if surface water has been removed. Though damages such as swelling, buckling and cupping may not show immediately given time the secondary damages will eventually show depending on how much moisture was absorbed into the laminate wood flooring.
